    IKEGO HILLS FAMILY HOUSING AREA, Japan (Aug. 17, 2026) Student safety patrol members raise the national colors during the first day of school at Ikego Elementary School onboard Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka’s Ikego Hills Family Housing Area in Zushi, Japan, Aug. 17, 2026. Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) leadership, Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA) faculty, and base staff welcomed students back for the 2026-2027 academic year. CFAY provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, 71 tenant commands, and more than 27,000 military and civilian personnel and their families.
