Cadmium- and hexavalent chromium-free electrical connectors undergo corrosion testing, mounted outdoors on a beach in Florida while being continuously energized to demonstrate there is no loss of performance. U.S. Army DEVCOM Ground Vehicle Systems Center engineers are now in the final phase of testing the connectors, set to take place in August at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, where they will be placed on an Infantry Squad Vehicle—Utility (ISV-U) and evaluated for electrical performance while on a vehicle.
