Aila Kim, a student helper for Defense Health Agency-Public Health’s 2nd annual Bug Camp, held June 29-July 3, examines a cluster of freshly hatched tick larvae clinging to a leaf, while collecting insect samples as part of tick drag on July 1, 2026. As a student helper, she guided 13 middle school campers through laboratory exercises, tick drags, and taught them the delicate art of insect pinning.
