U.S. Army Pfc. Rian Williams, assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 37th Armored Regiment, NATO Forward Land Forces (FLF) Battle Group-Poland, smiles with a Polish citizen during a Polish Armed Forces Day static display in Orzysz, Poland, Aug. 16, 2026. This national holiday, observed annually on or around Aug. 15, commemorates Poland’s victory over Soviet Russia in the 1920 Battle of Warsaw during the Polish-Soviet War. The NATO FLF Battle Group-Poland attended the parade as one of V Corps’ ready forces in Europe. The battle group builds vigilance, lethality, and interoperability through collaborative forums, multinational exercises, unit-level training, and professional relationships with allies.
