A soldier with the British Army’s Light Dragoons, NATO Forward Land Forces (FLF) Battle Group-Poland, showcases features on the machine gun, part of the Jakal during a Polish Armed Forces Day static display on Orzysz, Poland, Aug. 16, 2026. This national holiday, observed annually in or around Aug. 15, commemorates Poland’s victory over Soviet Russia in the 1920 Battle of Warsaw during the Polish-Soviet War. The NATO FLF Battle Group-Poland attended the parade as one of V Corps’ ready forces in Europe. The battle group builds vigilance, lethality, and interoperability through collaborative forums, multinational exercises, unit-level training, and professional relationships with allies.
