    U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) react to contact from their convoy while portraying enemy forces during a targeted ambush conducted by a Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha and simulated partner forces during Red Empire Strike at Camp Shelby, Mississippi, Aug. 15, 2026. The opposing-force role provides the ODA and partner forces with a realistic and dynamic training environment designed to replicate battlefield threats, challenge decision-making, and enhance their ability to respond to enemy contact during tactical operations.
