Command Sgt. Maj. Jose A. Ramos Ocasio, former 191st Regional Support Group command sergeant major, was awarded the Legion of Merit during a ceremony held during Annual Training at Camp Santiago Joint Training Center, Salinas, Puerto Rico, July 31, 2026.
The Legion of Merit recognizes exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services and achievements. The recognition reflects Ramos Ocasio’s distinguished service, leadership and lasting contributions to the 191st RSG and the Soldiers he served.
The ceremony provided an opportunity for the 191st RSG to honor his legacy of leadership and service while recognizing the enduring impact of dedicated senior noncommissioned officers on unit readiness, Soldier development and mission success.
