Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. Daryl Caudle speaks to the inaugural Enlisted Readiness Council (ERC), August 10, 2026. Established by CNO, the ERC, chaired by Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) John Perryman, creates a direct connection between senior enlisted leaders across the Fleet and the Navy’s highest levels of decision-making, and during the three-day conference, members receive briefs and work through issue papers submitted from across the Fleet. The council will meet regularly and provide readiness assessments, recommendations, and issue-focused analysis to the CNO for consideration.
