Maj. Gen. Daniel Boyack receives his final salute as the Adjutant General of the Utah National Guard from U.S. Army Col. Andrew Owens and U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Gene Buckner, the respective assistant adjutants general for the Utah Army National Guard and Utah Air National Guard during the Utah National Guard change of command ceremony August 3, 2026 in Salt Lake City. During the ceremony, Maj. Gen. Boyack relinquished command of the Utah National Guard to Col. Michael Kjar. The change of command represented the orderly transfer of authority and responsibility, ensuring continuity of leadership and mission readiness across the Utah National Guard.
