Reserve Surface Warfare and Strategic Sealift Officers assigned to Military Sealift Command (MSC) conduct shipboard familiarization and equipment training aboard the U.S. Maritime Administration roll-on/roll-off sealift vessel MV Cape Rise (T-AKR-9678) in Portsmouth, Va., August 6, 2026. The team of Sailors are completing their training as they prepare to deploy in support of MSC's crews of Civilian Mariners. MSC directs and supports operations for approximately 140 civilian-crewed ships that replenish Navy ships at sea, conduct specialized missions, preposition combat cargo at sea around the world, perform a variety of support services, and move military equipment and supplies to deployed forces.
