U.S. Airmen assigned to the 114th Maintenance Group perform Crashed, Damaged or Disabled Aircraft Recovery procedures on a simulated crashed CH-53 Sea Stallion during the 114th Fighter Wing’s Operation EDGECRUSHER Combat Readiness Inspection at Volk Field Air National Guard Base in Camp Douglas, Wisconsin, Aug. 7, 2026. Throughout the exercise, held Aug. 3-9, Volk Field served as the simulated forward operating base while the inspection evaluated the wing’s ability to generate, employ and sustain combat power under threat conditions in accordance with mission-essential task standards.
