A C-17 Globemaster III aircraft from the U.S. Air Force C-17 Demonstration Team, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, performs an aerial maneuver during the Arctic Thunder Open House at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Aug. 7, 2026. The C-17 is the most flexible cargo aircraft to enter the airlift force, capable of rapid strategic delivery of troops and all cargo types to operating and forward bases in a deployment area. The C-17 is a key driver in executing the Air Mobility Command mission, ensuring the rapid deployment and sustainment of U.S. armed forces anywhere in the world.
