A U.S. Air Force HC-130J Combat King II aircraft assigned to the 211th Rescue Squadron, Alaska Air National Guard, departs during the Joint Forces Demonstration at the Arctic Thunder Open House at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Aug. 7, 2026. The HC-130J's primary mission is to rapidly deploy to execute commander-directed recovery operations to austere airfields and denied territory for expeditionary, all-weather personnel recovery operations.
