Multiple U.S. Army soldiers in OCP (Operational Camouflage Pattern) uniforms are working on or inspecting the undercarriage and wheel area of a military vehicle. The central figure, an older soldier with gray hair, is kneeling and leaning down to examine something beneath the vehicle. Other soldiers are assisting, with one appearing to mark or handle lug nuts/hardware on the ground.

Brig. Gen. Christopher M. Thomas, commander of the 184th Sustainment Command, visits Soldiers assigned to the 1687th Transportation Company, Mississippi Army National Guard, at Camp Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center, Michigan, on Aug. 5, 2026, in support of Northern Strike 26-2. During the visit, Thomas observed Soldiers performing 10-level maintenance on military vehicles and discussed the unit's role in maintaining equipment readiness throughout the exercise. Northern Strike 26-2 is a premier reserve component readiness exercise that enhances interoperability and strengthens joint, interagency, and multinational partnerships through realistic, large-scale training.
