Marge was the Lockheed P-38 Lightning flown by Medal of Honor recipient Maj. Richard I. Bong, America’s highest-scoring fighter Ace of World War II with 40 confirmed aerial victories. The aircraft crashed in Papua New Guinea in 1944, and a recovered wingtip is returning to Wisconsin to preserve the shared history between Papua New Guinea and the United States.
