Drill-status Air National Guard Airmen spend the month as members of their communities, often pursuing civilian careers or education. These Airmen set their civilian lives aside for one weekend a month during guard drill to perform their Air Force duties, and are expected to maintain the same level of proficiency as their active duty counterparts.
