U.S. Army Lt. Col. Joseph Spangler, commander of the 115th Expeditionary Signal Battalion, 226th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, Alabama National Guard, leads Soldiers from the gas chamber during chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) training at Northern Strike 26-2 at Camp Grayling, Michigan, Aug. 5, 2026. The 115th Expeditionary Signal Battalion is training alongside Romanian soldiers during the exercise as part of the Alabama National Guard's State Partnership Program.
Northern Strike is an Army sponsored, multi-component, multinational exercise designed to build readiness and enhance interoperability to fight and win. Northern Strike 26-2, Michigan’s largest and longest joint readiness exercise, is held from August 1 to 15, 2026 at the National All-Domain Warfighting Center.
