Marine Corps Base Hawaii personnel and Ola Nu’upia Hui members conduct maintenance of the Nu’upia fishponds in coordination with the Environmental Compliance and Protection Division during a community and environmental stewardship workday at the Nu’upia Ponds Wildlife Management Area, MCBH, July 30, 2026. The event was held to restabilize the ecological and cultural integrity of the fishpond as part of the ongoing efforts to preserve traditional Hawaiian aquaculture systems and enhance environmental resilience and strengthen partnerships between the military and the local community through shared stewardship.
