U.S. Air Force Gen. S.L. Davis, commander of Air Force Global Strike Command, hosted U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Christopher J. Niemi, deputy chief of staff, HAF A5/7 Force Modernization, and Air Force chief modernization officer, at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, July 22 – 23, 2026. During the visit, the leaders discussed how the command ensures current and future strategic strike with the vast array of modernization efforts currently underway, such as the new MH-139A Grey Wolf helicopter fleet, the B-21 Raider bomber aircraft program, and the LGM-35A Sentinel intercontinental ballistic missile system.
