U.S. Army Spc. Yaniya Shuler, a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter crew chief, assigned to Bravo Company, 3rd Assault Helicopter Battalion, 1st Aviation Regiment, 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, pivots the M240H machine gun to the outside of the door gunner window and scans the upcoming range during aerial range qualifications at Lielvārde Air Base, Latvia, July 15, 2026. Operating from the open window of the UH-60 Black Hawk, door gunners provide the vigilance and defensive capability that help keep the aircraft one step ahead of potential threats, reinforcing the crew's ability to safely accomplish the mission.
