U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Curtis Taylor, commander of 1st Armored Division and Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB), in support of Operation Ardent Vanguard, discusses the importance of emplacing HESCO barriers along the southern border to deter suspected illegal aliens from entering the United States with U.S. Soldiers assigned to JTF-SB. These barrier reinforcement operations assist with the detection and monitoring of potential trespassing along the southern border. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
