Senior leaders from the Army’s Capability Program Executive Simulation, Training, Test and Threat (CPE ST3) and Combined Arms Command – Training Future Training Directorate take part in roundtable discussion about the Army’s Training and Simulation Characteristics of Need (CoN) statement with representatives from industry and academia on July 14, 2026, in Orlando, Florida. The Training and Simulation CoN statement establishes the baseline to initiate an iterative dialogue with industry and academia, anticipating future technologies and capabilities and supporting early prototyping, experimentation, and rapid acquisition activities to bridge gaps in readiness. The CoN statement is a living document and will be updated as required based on technological observations and lessons learned through experimentation and reviewed every 90 days by senior Army leaders.
