U.S. Coast Guard Ensign John Alvarado wore a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive (CBRNE) protective suit at Coast Guard Base Los Angeles-Long Beach, July 12, 2026. The training familiarized members of Coast Guard Port Security Unit 311 and U.S. Navy personnel with CBRNE protective suits before they completed a proficiency test requiring them to correctly don the uniform in eight minutes or less.
