    1st Marine Logistics Group

U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Grayden Heaton, a chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense specialist with Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division, checks the status of a joint chemical agent detector during Mercy Exercise 26-3 aboard the Freedom-class littoral combat ship USS Fort Worth (LCS-3) while docked in San Diego, California, June 17, 2026. During MERCEX 26-3, U.S. Navy Sailors from the hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH-19) worked alongside U.S. Marines with 1st Marine Logistics Group and 1st Marine Division for the first time to execute critical medical and CBRN decontamination training. This quarterly exercise directly strengthened readiness and integration between Marines and Sailors to respond safely and effectively in a CBRN environment. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
