A large wooden log heavily encrusted with marine organisms (barnacles, mussels, and other sea life) is being lifted out of water using green lifting straps. Water is dripping from the log and its marine growth as it is hoisted over what appears to be the side of a barge or work vessel. Personnel in what appear to be military or work uniforms are visible in the background.

A corroded wood pile structure removal during a repair project at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii on July 7, 2026. RIMPAC 2026 will build on the success of RIMPAC 2024 with a larger contingent of partners demonstrating the inherent flexibility of maritime forces. The exercise will cover a wide range of capabilities including amphibious operations, gunnery and missile proficiency, anti-submarine warfare, air defense exercises, military medicine, humanitarian assistance and disaster response, counter-piracy, mine clearance, explosive ordnance disposal, and diving and salvage operations. Throughout the exercise, partners train and operate together to strengthen our collective forces and promote a free and open Indo-Pacific.
