U.S. Sailors, Marines, and Coastguardsmen pose for a group photo after attending Mass in St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York, July 5, 2026. More than 100 U.S. Sailors attended Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City, where clergy bestowed a Fleet Blessing over those preparing to participate in Fleet Week. The service called upon God’s protection and providence for America’s maritime forces, praying that the nation’s sea service would remain strong, courageous, and guided by faith as it stands ready to defend the country. “May the Lord, our God, bless our warriors,” said Secretary of War Pete Hegseth. “May the Lord, our God, bless the enduring 250-year friendship between our two great republics, and may the Lord, our God, forever bless the United States of America.” (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class Clay M.
