Portfolio Acquisition Executive Strategic Systems Programs executive director, Ms. Kelly Lee, represented U.S. navy nuclear weapons programs and the sea-based leg of the nuclear triad as a panel member at the 27th annual Nuclear Triad Symposium in Shreveport, La., on June 18, 2026. The symposium brings together national security experts, defense industry leaders, and various academic partners to “examine the critical role of the Nuclear Triad as the foundation of U.S. national security, with presentations and discussions focused on the current strategic environment, force readiness, nuclear modernization, and the evolving role of deterrence in global competition,” according to the symposium program. In its fifth year at Louisiana State University-Shreveport, the event was co-hosted by LSU-S, the National Institute for Deterrence Studies, and the Building our Region’s Future organization. Shreveport is adjacent to Barksdale Air Force Base, the home of Air Force Global Strike Command, the Air Force command responsible for the land and air-based legs of the Nuclear Triad.
