David Williams, chief Engineering Division, and Rachel Felice, chief, Hydrology and Hydrolics Branch, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District, review hydrologic data and reservoir conditions following a recent heavy rainfall event at the district headquarters in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
During high water events, Tulsa District's Hydraulics and Hydrology Branch coordinates with the U.S. Geological Survey, Bureau of Reclamation, National Weather Service, National River Forecast Center, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, Southwestern Power Administration, Grand River Dam Authority and other organizations to monitor rainfall, stream flow, reservoir levels and downstream river conditions. This coordinated effort helps balance flood storage with downstream channel capacity while managing water releases across interconnected reservoir systems.
