Space Vandenberg Summer Internship Program participant speaks with fellow interns during the program kickoff at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, June 26, 2026. The eight-week internship placed 18 students from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, University of California Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara City College, Allan Hancock College and Cuesta College into six teams supporting organizations across the installation, including the Digital Transformation Office, 30th Operations Support Squadron, 30th Civil Engineer Squadron and 2nd Range Operations Squadron. The program enables hands-on experience for participants while supporting mission-focused projects across organizations throughout the installation for the purposes of developing the next generation of the western spaceport’s workforce.
