    A U.S. Soldier assigned to 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) pulls the charging handle while performing a functions check on an M249 Squad Automatic Weapon during the weapons lane of the Expert Soldier Badge (ESB) assessment at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, June 24, 2026.
