Kelli Mitchell, Fort Knox’s historical preservation specialist at the Cultural Resources Office, reads one of many letters penned by George Edick to his then-fiancé Nancy Budd. The trove of letters was recently donated by George and Nancy’s two sons, Geoff and Jim. They donated the letters to Fort Knox since they depict life at the installation prior to World War II.
