Members of the 2026 Disinterment Team and Sicily-Rome American Cemetery staff gather after a rosette ceremony for recently identified U.S. Army Pfc. Harlan W. Melinsky, at the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno, Italy, June 24, 2026. The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency identified Melinsky in April 2026. When a service member’s remains are found and identified, a bronze rosette is placed next to their name at a National Memorial Cemetery. This ceremony is a reminder of the commitment to provide the fullest possible accounting for America's missing personnel to their families and the nation. The team exhumed six caskets while conducting disinterment operations at the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Shay Stuart)
