A U.S. Army HH-60M Black Hawk medical evacuation helicopter assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border in support of Operation Ardent Vanguard sits on the flight line to prepare for subsequent missions in southern Arizona, June 17, 2026. The aircraft completed a rapid response to a request for assistance in a remote and austere environment, executing a hoist recovery to safely transport a patient to a higher level of medical care. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
