U.S. Navy Sailors participate in Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) and patient decontamination (DCON) training during Mercy Exercise (MERCEX) 26-3 at Naval Base San Diego Jun 16, 2026. CBRN patient DCON is a critical process of removing or neutralizing chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear agents from personnel, equipment and infrastructure with the goal to halt the spread of contaminates into secure zones. The USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) conducts recurring MERCEX training evolutions to develop and sustain Sailor proficiency and operational skills to maintain high level mission readiness across the command.
