U.S. Marines with the chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear platoon, Headquarters and Service Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, stage MOPP suits during Mercy Exercise 26-3 on Naval Base San Diego, California, June 17, 2026. During MERCEX 26-3, U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to the hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH-19) partnered for the first time with U.S. Marines assigned to 1st MLG and 1st Marine Division to execute critical medical and CBRN decontamination training at San Diego naval facilities and aboard the USS Fort Worth (LCS-3). This quarterly exercise directly strengthened readiness and integration between Marines and Sailors to respond safely and effectively in a CBRN environment. (Gunnery Sgt. Jesus Sepulveda Torres)
