U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Mary Torres, a combat photographer with Headquarters and Service Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, holds security during a Communication Strategy and Operations field training exercise at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, June 11, 2026. This training provided COMMSTRAT Marines from across I Marine Expeditionary Force with a more detailed understanding of infantry operations, improving their tactical proficiency and ability to integrate at the squad level. During the training Marines worked on basic squad tactics including patrolling, immediate action drills, and close quarters battle training. Torres is a native of Arizona.
