Space Launch Complex-6 stands at Vandenberg Space Force Base, Calif., June 16, 2026. Originally constructed in 1966 for the Air Force's Manned Orbiting Laboratory program, SLC-6 has undergone multiple transformations over nearly six decades in support of the nation's evolving space mission. The launch complex is being modernized through the removal of legacy infrastructure to provide adaptable facilities capable of supporting next-generation launch vehicles and future national security space operations.
