Brian Meade, outgoing Marine Corps Detachment Goodfellow commanding officer, with the Meritorious Service Medal during a change of command ceremony at the Louis F. Garland Department of War Fire Academy, Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas, June 12, 2026. Meade was awarded the medal for leading and developing 2700 entry level signals intelligence and firefighter Marines, helping modernize the Basic Signals Operator course, removing academic barriers in the firefighter training pipeline and saving the Marine Corps over $3.4 million dollars annually.
