This temporary resin bust of Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Charity Adams was replaced by a permanent bronze bust on the monument honoring the all minority female 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion June 9, 2026, in the Buffalo Soldier Commemorative Area at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The temporary resin bust was installed on the monument for the dedication in 2018. Production of the permanent bronze bust was hindered due to the pandemic. The resin bust will go on display at the Richard Allen Cultural Center in Leavenworth, Kansas, where a panel from the monument is also on display. Photo by Prudence Siebert/Fort Leavenworth Lamp
