Richard Allen Cultural Center, Buffalo Soldier Monument Committee and Fort Leavenworth representatives Rik Jackson, William Wallace, Edna Wagner, Jerry Clark, Carlton Philpot and Glenda Goard gather around the monument honoring the all minority female 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion as Caleb Noll, general superintendent with Julius Kaaz Construction, places the permanent bronze bust of Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Charity Adams June 9, 2026, in the Buffalo Soldier Commemorative Area at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The permanent bronze bust replaces the temporary resin bust that was installed on the monument for the dedication in 2018. Production of the bronze bust was hindered due to the pandemic.
