The plaque reads: “Presented in honor of 25 years of enduring partnership between the New Jersey National Guard and the Albanian Armed Forces. Forged in trust, strengthened through service, and united in a shared commitment to peace, security, and freedom.” The New Jersey National Guard’s partnership with the Republic of Albania, traces its roots back to 1995 and officially became part of the National Guard State Partnership Program, Jan. 17, 2001, making it one of the oldest SPP relationships in the nation. The State Partnership Program is administered by the National Guard Bureau, which links a state's National Guard with the armed forces of a partner country in order to build long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with U.S. partners around the world.
