SAN ANTONIO (June 10, 2026) Leadership of Naval Medical Research Unit (NAMRU) San Antonio journeyed to USAA Headquarters to attend one of many U.S. Army 151st Birthday Celebrations where Soldiers from Public Health Command-West and NAMRU San Antonio presented the colors. The theme of this year’s Army Birthday is “This We’ll Defend,” which underscores the Army’s foundational purpose and timeless ethos—to fight and win the nation's wars while emphasizing continuous modernization and technological innovation within the force. Part of Navy Medicine Research & Development, NAMRU San Antonio supports Navy Medicine’s efforts to deliver expeditionary medicine systems, increase Sailor and Marine deployability, provide quality healthcare and recruit and retain medical personnel.
