U.S. Airmen with the U.S. Air Forces Europe and Air Forces Africa Band Brass Ensemble play music for a crowd gathered for a D-Day commemoration event at the Hippodrome Maurice de Folleville in Carentan-les-Marais, France, June 3, 2026. The band provided music and entertainment for attendees of the event which highlighted the service and sacrifice of paratroopers during airborne operations in World War II. From June 2-7, 2026, more than 600 U.S. Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Guardians and Airmen from roughly 17 units historically linked to D-Day made up Joint Task Force 82 and participated in over 90 commemorative events throughout the Normandy Region.
