A U.S. Air Force C-130 aircraft flies over the Hippodrome Maurice de Folleville during a commemoration event in Carentan-les-Marais, France, June 3, 2026. The event highlighted the service and sacrifice of paratroopers during airborne operations in World War II. From June 2-7, 2026, more than 600 U.S. Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Guardians and Airmen from roughly 17 units historically linked to D-Day made up Joint Task Force 82 and participated in over 90 commemorative events throughout the Normandy Region.
