Rear Admiral Erin Acosta, commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command, and Rear Admiral Neil Koprowski, commander, Expeditionary Strike Group Two (ESG-2), tour the World War II Museum along with Sailors within their commands during Sail 250 New Orleans May 30, 2026. The guided tour, led by Mr. Peter Crean, vice president of education and access at the National War War II Museum, gave insight into the period of time which defined a generation of Americans and evolved military tactics around the world.
More than 3,000 Sailors, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, and international partners engage with the people of New Orleans during the inaugural Sail 250 event, showcasing the professionalism, maritime heritage, and warfighting readiness of America’s sea services while celebrating 250 years of Navy and Marine Corps service as part of the nation’s Freedom 250 commemoration.
