Rear Admiral Erin Acosta, commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command, received a tour of the Navy Reserve Officers' Training Corps at Tulane University during Sail 250 New Orleans on May 27, 2026. Rear Adm. Acosta also had the opportunity to talk to the latest class of commissioned naval officers and open discussions on topics such as leadership, career choices, and naval history.
More than 3,000 Sailors, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, and international partners engage with the people of New Orleans during the inaugural Sail 250 event, showcasing the professionalism, maritime heritage, and warfighting readiness of America’s sea services while celebrating 250 years of Navy and Marine Corps service as part of the nation’s Freedom 250 commemoration.
