Before the 340th Flying Training Group change of command ceremony on May 27, 2026, at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, personnel from the 340th FTG were able to gather for the unit's annual mandatory unit training assembly group photo. Col. James Morgan is now responsible for the overall success of the Air Force Reserve Command’s Reserve Instructor Program, which trains and provides experienced instructor pilots, jump masters, and Basic Military Training instructors to Air Education and Training Command’s instructor force. He will also command more than 800 military and civilian Airmen in seven squadrons, located at bases across the United States.
