U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Ann Phillips, the commander of Expeditionary Strike Group 2, provides oversight from the bridge of the amphibious command ship USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20) as seven ships participating in Baltic Operations (BALTOPS) 2013 maneuver into their stations to conduct formation steaming in the Baltic Sea June 16, 2013. BALTOPS is a joint and combined exercise designed to enhance multinational maritime capabilities and interoperability between the U.S. and European nations in the Baltic region.
