CLEVELAND (May 20, 2026) – USS Cleveland (LCS 31) departs Cleveland, Ohio, May 20, 2026, near the Lone Sailor statue along the city’s waterfront. Cleveland departed its namesake city after commissioning week, marking the beginning of its service life as a commissioned U.S. Navy warship. Cleveland is the fourth warship to be named after Ohio’s second largest city and is the 16th and final Freedom-variant littoral combat ship to be built and commissioned in the U.S. Navy.
