A U.S. Soldier assigned to 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) bench presses 405 pounds during the 1,000 pound club competition held during 3rd SFG (A)’s annual Tribe Week on Fort Bragg, North Carolina, May 19, 2026. The 1,000 pound club competition is a three-part strength challenge in which competitors attempt to lift a combined total of 1,000 pounds across the bench press, barbell squat and deadlift. As part of the Tribe Week, the Commander’s Cup brought together teams from across 3rd SFG(A) to build esprit de corps across multiple events, including flag football, ultimate frisbee, the 1,000-pound club competition and tug-of-war.
